除雾器（misteliminator）主要是由波形叶片、板片、卡条等固定装置组成，在湿法脱硫，吸收塔在运行过程中，易产生粒径为10--60微米的“雾”，“雾”不仅含有水分，它还溶有硫盐等，同时也造成风机、热交换器及烟道的玷污和严重腐蚀，因此，湿法脱硫工艺上对吸收设备提出除雾的要求，被净化的气体在离开吸收塔之前要除雾。鄂州平板式脱硫塔系统由除雾器本体及冲洗系统组成。具体为二级除雾器本体、冲洗水管道、喷嘴、支撑架、支撑梁及相关连接、固定、密封件等组成。除雾器用于分离塔中气体夹带的液滴，以保证有传质效率，降低有价值的物料损失和改善塔后压缩机的操作，一般多在塔**设置除雾器。可有效去除≥26μ的雾滴，塔盘间若设置除雾器，不仅可保证塔盘的传质效率，还可以减小板间距。所以除雾器主要用于气液分离。
